It is yet another honor for Kotsur during this awards season. He won a Gotham Award for “Outstanding supporting performance” and was nominated for a Golden Globes award, but didn’t win. Now he has a SAG nomination, which is one of the most prestigious awards out there for actors.
The “CODA” cast as a whole got a SAG nomination for “Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.” That means the honors also goes to fellow deaf actors Marlee Matlin and Daniel Durant, as well as Emilia Jones, who played the main role of a CODA daughter. Two more actors were recognized — the music teacher and the love interest of Emilia’s character.
