Jamal Garner: Go “Quiet Storm!”

Alex: I’m here with Julian “Quiet Storm” Smith!

Julian: Hello.

Alex: You just won! You defeated him. He had a 24-1 record and you beat him! How did you prepare and find his weaknesses?

Julian: I know his body language and I just studied him. I decided to pressure him and stop him. It’s my job. I know what it is, the ways of boxing. That’s my job

Alex: I noticed that at the weigh-in yesterday, your opponent said you were short.

Alex: After you beat him, you gestured about being short. Can you comment about this?

Julian: Okay. The guy told me, “You’re short.” I just let it past me. He didn’t realize that I have power. I showed him a surprise. Just like a quiet storm. If you touch me, you’ll get the volt!

Alex: Whoo!

Julian: I proved it to him today. He was surprised and now he is giving me a lot of respect.

Julian: I’m showing that Deaf can do it!

Alex: You’re absolutely right.

Jamal Garner: I’m Jamal. We’re friends and we went to the same Deaf school, the Illinois School for the Deaf. I’m sharing something now. While we were in touch, he told me that he had bad news. His wrist was sprained.

Julian: Yeah.

Jamal: He said he may have to cancel the fight. I told him, “No!” I told him to go ahead with the fight. Just put it on ice and take some medicine. You’ll be healed in two days. And sure enough, he was fine. How is your wrist?

Julian: It’s 100% recovered. I put it on ice and it’s recovered. I feel great now. 100% That’s how I stormed him out!

Jamal: I’m glad that he decided not to cancel the fight. I told him that many Deaf people were coming to see his fight. We are here to support him and contribute to the Deaf community. We are here for you!

Alex and Jamal: Congratulations, Quiet Storm!

Julian: Quiet Storm!
