Musk spent $260M for Trump; Harris spent $1.2B
Elon Musk spent at least $260 million in total to help Donald Trump’s campaign, according to new information from filings with the Federal Election Commission. It’s a multi-billionaire supporting another billionaire.
New information also revealed that Kamala Harris’ campaign had only $1.8 million on November 25, which means her campaign spent nearly all of its $1.2 billion that was raised from donors. It was a billion-dollar spending spree that didn’t bring great results on election day.

Federal appeals court supports sale or ban of TikTok
AP News said a federal appeals court in D.C. supported a law that could lead to a sale or ban on TikTok by mid-January.
The law requires TikTok to break itself off its parent company in China, ByteDance, to avoid a ban. The law is based on national security concerns as lawmakers don’t want a Chinese company to be able to gather data on millions of Americans’ phones.
TikTok representatives challenged the law by arguing that it violated the Constitutional right to free speech. But the court said the law protects that freedom by limiting a foreign adversary from gathering data on people in the U.S.
AP said the case is expected to be appealed to the Supreme Court. AP said Donald Trump previously supported a ban on TikTok but now has changed and wants to save the app. So it’s an ongoing legal issue.

A UK government office said “Muhammad” is the most popular baby name for boys in England and Wales for the first time. The name has been in the top 10 names for boys for several years but now it’s in first place.
The office said the popularity of the name is clearly due to religious significance and the increasing Muslim population in the region, which has more than doubled since 2001.
The second-most popular name for baby boys in the UK is Noah.
For baby girls in the UK, Olivia has been the most popular name since 2016.

Manhunt continues for CEO killer
In New York City, the manhunt for the unidentified suspect who shot and killed the CEO of UnitedHealthcare on Wednesday morning is still going on.
CNN said the NYPD has DNA samples from a water bottle that the suspect purchased and may have sipped before the killing. There was also a cell phone left at the scene that may have some DNA on it.
The NYPD’s main priority is to identify the man. The biggest clue is the picture of him smiling when he was at a hostel.
The suspect traveled to New York City on a Greyhound bus that came from Atlanta. Police do not know exactly when the suspect boarded the bus. He arrived in the city ten days before the shooting. He had a fake New Jersey driver’s license and used cash when staying at the hostel.
The shooter’s motive may be anger over health insurance businesses in the U.S. because the bullets had the words, “deny,” “delay,” and “depose” on it, which is what some insurance companies do to their clients when denying their claims.
