Commission on Presidential Debates to modify format of debates
Last night was the Trump vs Biden debate. I did a recap of it in a separate video. Here is an update related to the debate. The Commission on Presidential Debates, who sponsors and organizes the debates, announced that “last night’s debate made clear that additional structure should be added to the format of the remaining debates to ensure a more orderly discussion of the issues.” The commission was clearly referring to President Trump’s frequent interruptions of Joe Biden and his argumentative tone with the moderator, Chris Wallace. Many on social media said the moderator should have the power to cut off the mic or camera to force either candidate to stop talking if they were being disruptive. So we’ll see what tools the commission will provide. The next debate is next week between Vice President Mike Pence and Senator Kamala Harris.
Titans game postponed because of Covid-19 infections
The NFL said they would postpone the Tennessee Titans’ game this Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers after three Titans players and five staff members tested positive for the coronavirus. The game will be moved to Monday or Tuesday. The Titans’ facilities are shut down and team members will have to virtually meet up and practice.
Trump says he doesn’t know who Proud Boys are
Last night during the debate President Donald Trump said the Proud Boys group should “stand back and stand by” when he was asked whether he would condemn white supremacist groups who caused violence. That was last night.
Republican Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) said today that he believes Trump misspoke and that he should correct what he said.
This afternoon President Trump said he doesn’t know who the Proud Boys are but that they have to stand down and let law enforcement do their work. He then said antifa is a real problem and that Biden refuses to talk about it.
Proud Boys is a male-only group that is designated as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. The Anti-Defamation League said the group is a violent, extremist group. The group frequently wears yellow and black Fred Perry polo shirts and red MAGA hats.
The Fred Perry company issued a statement a few days ago saying they do not support and is in no way affiliated with the Proud Boys and said they are frustrated that this group has appropriated their designs.

Arkansas school superintendent dies from coronavirus
The superintendent for the Atkins School District in Arkansas died from the coronavirus. His name was Jody Jenkins and he was 57. He announced on September 13 that he tested positive and was in the hospital. Arkansas requires schools to be open five days a week for in-person classes, but students are allowed to get remote instruction. AP News reported that there are 717 active coronavirus cases among public schools in the state.
Grand jury recordings in Breonna Taylor case delayed
The release of the audio tapes of the grand jury proceedings in the Breonna Taylor case was supposed to be released today but it will be delayed until Friday because the Kentucky attorney general asked for a one-week delay to protect the identities of private citizens in the recordings. The recordings are 20 hours long. A county judge allowed the delay, but up to Friday.
36-year-old man found hiding in teenager’s closet for over a month
In Florida, a 36-year-old man was arrested and charged with sex crimes after the parents of a 16-year-old teenager found him hiding in the teenager’s bedroom for over a month. The man’s name is Jonathan Lee Rossmoine and he is from Louisiana. Police said the man met with the teenager online and then traveled to Florida to stay in the child’s bedroom and was there for five weeks until the parents found him in the closet and called police.
