When will we know presidential election results?

When will we know the results of the presidential election?

We will start seeing results tonight after polls close. In Arizona, polls close at 9 p.m. In Georgia, polls close at 7 p.m. In Michigan, polls close at 9 p.m. In Nevada, polls close at 10 p.m. So you get the idea, it’s safe to say that we’ll see the first results after 10:00 pm EST.

News broadcasters and election experts usually analyze the results and they’re able to figure out if a presidential candidate is likely going to win, even if not all the votes have been counted yet. It’s like watching a foot race — if you see someone who’s in a big lead, has a huge advantage over others, you can project that person is going to win because it’s not likely that their opponents will catch up. So if a certain state has a very strong showing for a certain candidate, some news analysts will project a winner and give them a certain state’s electoral votes (points).

But for who wins the election — we probably won’t know until early Wednesday morning or later. In states with close election results, it will take longer to know who is the projected winner. If the election is really, really close, then it is harder for news networks to have a projected winner, and it’ll take longer to know who won a certain state.

In 2020, we didn’t know the winner until four days due to very close races in Pennsylvania and Nevada. There was a lot of mail-in voting due to the pandemic that caused many delays.

I’m not sure if there will be similar delays this year. Some states do not allow mail-in ballots to be opened and tallied until after in-person voting has ended. So you can imagine stacks and stacks of mail-in ballots that cannot be counted until late tonight. But if there’s a strong in-person turnout, then analysts can predict how the mail-in ballots will turn out.

CBS News said the most important battleground states tonight are Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. So these states are the ones that we can watch closely to see which direction the election is going.

The contract has a 38% pay increase over four years, a $12,000 bonus, and an increased 401(k) match. This was the third deal offered to the machinists. The report said Boeing’s finances have taken a serious hit as a result of the strike, which halted production of 737, 767, and 777 aircraft in its Seattle-area plants.

Lightning strike kills Peru soccer player

On Sunday, a 39-year-old soccer player in Peru was tragically killed by a direct hit from a lightning strike as he was walking on the soccer field. Several other players, who were walking not far from the 39-year-old, appeared to be shocked by the lightning bolt as they fell to the ground. TMZ reported that the game was suspended due to bad weather and the lightning strike happened as players were walking off. One player survived but suffered serious burns. An official said the 39-year-old’s name was Jose Hugo de la Cruz Meza and that he was wearing a metal bracelet, which may have been like a magnet for the lightning strike.
