Manhunt for escaped murderer
On Thursday, a convicted murderer escaped from a prison in Pennsylvania and despite a massive manhunt, he has not been found.
His name is Danelo Cavalcante and he was recently sentenced to life in prison for fatally stabbing his girlfriend in 2021.
Police said he was spotted by cameras in a big botanical garden near the prison, which is not far from Philadelphia.
Two school districts said they canceled classes today because of the manhunt.
One man who lived in West Chester said Cavalcante broke into his home to steal food.
Cavalcante is originally from Brazil and news reports said he is wanted for murder in Brazil.
Kim Jong-un and Putin to meet
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un plans to visit Russia this month to meet with Russian President Putin to discuss a deal to supply Russia with weapons for its war in Ukraine.
The New York Times said Jong-un probably will travel from North Korea’s capital to a Russian city on the Pacific Coast via an armored train.
Putin is looking for artillery shells and missiles while Jong-un wants to get advanced technology for satellites and nuclear-powered submarines.
SUV crashes into Denny’s restaurant
An SUV crashed into a Denny’s restaurant in Texas on Monday morning and injured 23 people. A news image shows a hole outside of the restaurant with a red SUV inside.
Those who were injured had injuries ranging from minor to serious, but fortunately, there are no life-threatening injuries.
ABC News said those who were eating at the restaurant heard a bang and suddenly saw debris everywhere. One person may have sustained a broken leg after a beam fell on her. Others were pushed into the kitchen by the impact.
Police said they are investigating the cause of the accident.

Doctor says McConnell didn’t have seizure or stroke
Axios reported that Congress’ attending physician said today that there is no evidence that Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky) suffered a seizure or a stroke.
McConnell was checked after he seemed to freeze up while answering reporters’ questions twice in recent weeks.
The doctor said McConnell underwent MRI imaging and had consultations with multiple neurologists. He said McConnell is medically clear to continue working.
Burning Man festival-goers experience rain and mud
Tens of thousands of people who attended the Burning Man festival in the Nevada desert experienced unusually heavy rains that caused the desert to turn into deep mud.
There was a driving ban and a shelter-in-place order, but starting yesterday afternoon, festival-goers were able to depart after things started drying out.
One person died during the festival, a 32-year-old man named Leon Reece. He became unresponsive on Friday and died. The investigation into his death is ongoing and is delayed because of the weather.
Storm could turn into major Hurricane Lee
There is a brewing storm in the Atlantic Ocean that weather forecasters say may turn into a major hurricane named Lee.
The storm is about 1,400 miles east of the Caribbean islands. It is named Tropical Depression 13.
Forecasters say it could turn into a Category 4 storm by Saturday morning east of Puerto Rico and continue strengthening into Sunday with wind speeds of 140 mph. So that's something to look out for this week.
