Boeing workers on strike

Workers with aerospace giant Boeing voted to start striking today after they rejected a deal to get paid 25% more over four years — the workers wanted a 40% increase. There are about 30,000 union members and 96% of them voted in favor of the strike. The strike will affect manufacturing in the Seattle area. For Boeing, it is another major problem after the deadly 737 Max crashes and grounding of planes a few years ago, the Alaska Airlines door panel blowout in January, and its Starliner spacecraft failing to bring NASA astronauts back home as scheduled a few weeks ago.

Springfield schools evacuated due to threats

ABC News said two elementary schools and a middle school were closed today in Springfield, Ohio due to threats. Putin warns against allowing long-range missiles

Russian President Putin warned that if the U.S. and NATO members allow Ukraine to use long-range weapons it gets from them to strike deep inside Russia instead of only at the border, it means that the U.S. is at war with Russia. Putin said he would make appropriate decisions based on new threats. Right now, President Biden is talking with the U.K. about potentially allowing Ukraine to do this. U.S. lawmakers also support this. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy has been asking for a long time to be allowed to strike inside Russia because Ukraine has been hit countless times from Russian long-range weapons.
