Six Israeli hostages killed by Hamas fighters

Six Israeli hostages were killed by their Hamas captors shortly before the Israeli military moved into their locations in tunnels in Gaza, according to the Israeli military. The hostages’ ages ranged from 23 to 40.

In Israel, hundreds of thousands of protesters demonstrated to express anger and disappointment with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu for failing to secure a ceasefire/hostages deal.

Hamas released videos showing the six hostages and said it was their “last messages.” There are about 65 hostages that are still alive and being held by Hamas in Gaza. Hamas warned that it would kill more hostages if Israel’s military tried to free them.

Netanyahu said he is asking for forgiveness from the families of the six hostages but did not say that he would look for a deal — instead he said he would make Hamas pay a heavy price.

Brazilian officials demanded Musk to block certain individuals and accounts, accusing them of spreading false and hateful information. Musk refused to and accused Brazil of acting like a dictator and destroying free speech.

Brazil said it would impose fines of the equivalent of $8,900 USD for anyone in Brazil who used X through a virtual private network (VPN).
