Helicopter crash in Houston

On Sunday night in the Houston area, four people who were on a privately-owned helicopter were killed when it crashed into a communications tower that was in a residential area. Tragically one of the four was a child.

Witnesses said there was a huge explosion and that the tower crumbled down. Houston’s mayor said residents are safe but that there was a terrible accident.

The helicopter was a Robinson R44 helicopter and it had just departed an airport about 17 miles south of the crash site.

The FAA and the NTSB will investigate the crash.

Sean “Diddy” Combs facing multiple lawsuits from alleged victims

USAToday said a law firm that represents alleged sex abuse victims of Sean “Diddy” Combs has filed multiple lawsuits against him and that there could be 120 alleged victims. This law firm filed six lawsuits last week and just filed five more. One of the suits represents a woman who said she was assaulted when she was 13 years old in 2000. The other suits represent various men and women who said they were assaulted at various times in the past.

Combs’ representatives said he has never sexually assaulted anyone, adult or minor, man or woman.

Combs was arrested in September and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and related charges. He is in custody in a New York City jail and is scheduled to go on trial in May.

Trump works at McDonald’s drive-thru in campaign event

Donald Trump worked at a McDonald’s drive-thru in Pennsylvania during a campaign event. He wore an apron and handed food to pre-selected supporters in five cars. He also cooked some French fries. The restaurant was closed to the public and there were hundreds of people who tried to see Trump. There were some protesters and dramatic scenes.

Trump said he now has worked at McDonald’s, worked for 15 minutes more than Kamala.

USAToday said Kamala Harris said she worked at McDonald’s when she was in college.

Pennsylvania is an important state to the presidential election. It is a swing state and it has 19 electoral votes. Polls show that Trump and Harris are virtually tied.

Seven people die after ferry dock collapses

On Saturday afternoon, seven elderly people tragically died when a gangway (boat dock) collapsed, sending them into the water below. This happened in Georgia’s Sapelo Island. There was a special event to celebrate the island’s community of Black slave descendants, which is known as the Gullah-Geechee.

There were about 40 people who were on the dock, waiting to board a ferry, when it collapsed. About 20 people went into the water and some bystanders jumped in to help others, but for some, it was too late.

Six of those who died were in their 70s and one was 93 years old. Several were seriously injured and transported to hospitals.

Witnesses said it was a terrible, chaotic scene.

There is an investigation into why the dock collapsed.

New York Liberty win its first WNBA championship

The New York Liberty won the franchise’s first WNBA championship on Sunday night by defeating the Minnesota Lynx during overtime in Game 5 of the WNBA finals.

Liberty’s center Jonquil Jones won the finals’ MVP award.
