Thanksgiving travel may have 31 million flying

There may be 31 million people flying for the Thanksgiving holiday this week. The busiest days will be Wednesday, November 27 and Sunday, December 1.

CNN explained that the FAA said flights in the Northeast may be slowed down due to air traffic controller staffing shortages. There also could be delays due to two large storms in the central and eastern U.S.

At the airport in Charlotte, North Carolina, service workers have gone on strike to protest low wages. The strike is happening this week on the busiest travel time.

So if you’re flying, you may have to be prepared for more people, longer lines, and possibly delays in certain areas.

Couple charged with stealing $1M from Lululemon

A couple from Connecticut were charged with stealing about $1 million worth of things from multiple Lululemon stores in various states.

Authorities said the couple stole items by distracting store employees, sometimes by holding up jackets or items to block their view, while others stole items. The couple had a tool that could remove security sensors from clothes. They then did fraudulent returns with the stolen items at different Lululemon stores.

Their names are Jadion Richards and Akwele Lawes-Richards. They were arrested two weeks ago in Minnesota after they set off a store’s alarms. An organized retail crime investigator recognized them and it led to them being charged with organized retail theft.

DHL cargo plane crashes in Lithuania

A DHL cargo plane crashed as it was descending towards an airport in Vilnius, Lithuania and skidded into a house, damaging it.

There were four crew members on the plane and one was killed while the other three were injured.

Those in the house were evacuated and nobody was killed.

Plane debris, including parts with DHL’s well-known yellow color, were scattered in a wooded area. There was snow on the ground and the weather was freezing.

An eyewitness told AP News that she saw a very bright, red light that filled her room before hearing an explosion. She thought that a world war had begun.

Investigators said they are looking at whether the crash was due to problems with the plane, human error, or a terrorist act.

Israel and Lebanon nearing ceasefire agreement

News reports say Israel and Lebanon have, in private, agreed to a ceasefire, but they haven’t made any public announcements yet. The Israeli government may approve it on Tuesday.

The deal would have the Israeli military withdraw from southern Lebanon, the Lebanese army move in to areas close to the border with Israel, and Hezbollah moving its heavy weapons north.

Israel and Hezbollah have been fighting since the Oct. 7 attack and it’s caused the deaths of over 3,500 people in Lebanon and around 140 Israeli soldiers and civilians.

We’ll see if there is a ceasefire deal.
