Missing deaf, developmentally disabled woman found on subway
News reports from New York City said a 47-year-old woman who is deaf and has developmental disabilities, Samantha Primus, was found on Saturday after being missing for three weeks. She was found on the subway in Manhattan.
NBC News said Primus disappeared from her sister’s home, where she was spending the holidays, in Elmont, Long Island at around 3:30 a.m. on December 23. Later that night, she was taken to the Queens Hospital Center and discharged the next morning on Christmas Eve. It is not known why she was taken to a hospital in the first place. She was released and given a list of homeless shelters.
Primus’ family organized searches across New York City and she was finally found by someone who recognized her riding the 1 train on Saturday. She was still wearing a pink knit hat she had on when she first went missing. She was taken to a hospital for a medical checkup.

Her family are celebrating but want to get answers from the hospital system on what happened when she was released on Christmas Eve.
