Disney cancels $1B employee campus in Florida
Disney canceled its plans to build a new $1 billion employee campus in Orlando.
News analysts said it is a part of the ongoing feud between Disney and Florida Gov. DeSantis, which was sparked by their disagreement on a new law that bars elementary classroom discussion of LGBTQ topics.
The new employee campus was estimated to bring about 2,000 jobs to the area with average salaries of $120,000. Disney said the cancellation was the result of changing business conditions.
G7 agree to “starve the Russian war machine”
BBC reported that leaders of the Group of Seven (G7), made up of the U.S., Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the U.K., in their meeting in Japan agreed on new sanctions to “starve the Russian war machine.”
The sanctions are aimed at stopping exports of G7 technology, industrial equipment and services that Russia could use to support its war.
The sanctions will also target groups that are suspected of moving material to the Russian war front.
The G7 said it is renewing its commitment to providing financial and military support to Ukraine.
President Biden said he would support a plan to train Ukrainian pilots on how to operate advanced fighter jets, including U.S.-made F-16s.
Woman accused of drugging, robbing man
The Miami Police Department said they are looking for a woman who is suspected of drugging a man and robbing him of about $600,000 worth of jewelry. This happened last week.
Police said the man met the woman at a club and then took her to his place at around 5:30 a.m. the next morning. The man had a drink and then fell asleep. When he woke up, he saw that the woman was gone and his safe was open and that his two Rolex watches and other expensive jewelry were missing.
Police released the video from an elevator in the man’s apartment building that shows the suspect arriving with the victim, and then after a while, the woman leaves alone. She was bringing two plastic Solo cups and police suspect that she did it to take away evidence because the cups may have her DNA and the contents of whatever drug she put in it.

U.S. Army veteran killed in Ukraine

A private Russian military company called the Wagner Group posted a video that apparently showed the body of Maimer. The group said they would return the body to the U.S.
