Gallaudet women’s basketball team to play in NCAA tournament

The Gallaudet University women’s basketball team will play in the first round of the 2025 NCAA Division III women’s basketball tournament on Friday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m. against New York University on their home court.

Gallaudet’s athletics website explained that the women’s basketball team received an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament after winning a thrilling game in overtime to win the United East Conference (UEC) championship on Saturday.

The Bison, with a 18-10 record, will have a tough challenge against NYU as they have a perfect 25-0 record and is the defending NCAA Division III champions.

Two players to watch on Gallaudet’s team are Cam Lexow (#1) and Raj Guettler (#3). They received the UEC first team all-conference and second team all-conference honors, respectively. Lexow received the UEC Defensive Player of the Year honor, a major award.
