Today President Joe Biden honored the fallen U.S. Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick, who died defending the Capitol from a violent mob. His ashes lie in honor in the Rotunda.

Capitol Police carried his ashes to the Arlington National Cemetery. His death is being investigated by D.C. homicide detectives.

CNN reported that the FBI raided two homes in Orange County, California that belonged to two men who were organizers of a pro-Trump rally on January 5, a day before the attack on the Capitol. The men told the crowd that they should prepare for war against lawmakers who refused to nullify Joe Biden’s election victory. Here is a clip.

CNN explained that the FBI raids are the first ones against people who organized rallies linked to the Capitol attack. Both men supported QAnon. Will they be held responsible for inciting a mob? We’ll see.

Canada’s federal government has added the Proud Boys group on it’s list of terrorist organizations. It was a part of 13 additions that included ISIS and al-Qaeda affiliates. Canadian lawmakers moved quickly to designate the Proud Boys terrorists after the Capitol attack, but said they had their eye on the group for months.

Amazon’s CEO Jeff Bezos announced yesterday that he will no longer be the CEO and instead become the company’s executive chairman and focus on different projects such as his Blue Origin spaceship company, The Washington Post, or the Bezos Earth Fund. The change will happen in the third quarter of this year, meaning July. A top executive, Andy Jassy, will take over.

In Oklahoma, a 25-year-old man named Jarron D. Pridgeon was arrested and accused of shooting and killing his 24-year-old brother and five young children, whose ages ranged from 9 to 1. The suspect was the father to three of the children. Police in Muskogee said the suspect and the victims all lived in the same home. The children’s mother was wounded and is in the hospital. A neighbor said it was very tragic and she couldn’t understand or process it.
