Dr. Gerard Buckley to retire from NTID in July 2025

Dr. Gerard Buckley, the long-time president of NTID, announced he will be stepping down from his role and retiring in July 2025.

Buckley has been the president of NTID for 15 years. He is a RIT/NTID alumnus and started his career there in 1990 as an assistant professor.

Buckey said in a statement that he is “honored to have served as president” and is “thankful to the dedicated faculty and staff at NTID” and for the “support of (his) wife Judy over the years.

RIT said it will launch a national search for the next president of NTID.
