Scott & Shayna scale Manaslu
Here are two Deaf News briefs.
The first is that Deaf mountaineers and couple Scott Lehmann and Shayna Unger, who scaled Everest last year, successfully summited the eighth-highest mountain in the world, Manaslu, this morning local time. Manaslu is in Nepal. Their social pages have been providing many updates of their expedition, which shows beautiful snow-covered peaks and many challenging treks. You can check out their pictures and videos on Facebook and Instagram. Congratulations to Scott and Shayna on summiting Manaslu!

The second Deaf News brief is that there is an upcoming film from Paramount Movies that has Deaf actress Sandra Mae Frank as one of its stars. The film is “The Silent Hour” and it is about a Boston detective (Joel Kinnaman) who is dealing with an injury that caused him to have hearing loss. He becomes an interpreter for Frank’s character, who witnessed a gang murder, and the two find themselves targeted by the killers. According to “Collider,” the film is set to be released on October 11, 2024. We’ll provide more information when we get it.
