Deaf contestant on Bachelor in Paradise: Final Recap

Now, this is a quick recap on Abigail Heringer (26) from Oregon and her journey on Bachelor in Paradise (BIP) Season 7 as the first deaf contestant on the show. BIP Season 7 started on August 16 and finished this recent Tuesday, October 5th. We did do an opening recap on Abigail on BIP last August, you can see the recap which is linked to this transcript below.

When Abigail arrived at the beach for the BIP show, she immediately connected with a man named Noah Erb (26) from Oklahoma. The both of them paired up fast and stuck together throughout the whole show. These two did not date other people or try getting to know other people. The both of them remained together since day 1. Their relationship seemed to be very stable. There were a few turbulences along the road, but mostly stable until this recent season finale- something happened.

I will explain the background briefly before that situation happened. In the season finale, BIP had a prom night for everyone. During that prom event, people voted for prom king and queen, titles like “couple that is most likely to…”, and etc. The people on BIP voted Noah and Abigail to be the couple that will be most likely to live happily ever after.

Right after they won that title, Noah pulled Abigail to talk to her. The both of them talked on the stairs. He explained that she is not his “person.” Abigail got confused because the night before prom, Noah told Abigail that he was falling in love with her and now on prom night, he says Abigail is not her person. When Noah told Abigail that he was falling in love with her, she froze. She did not respond at all.

When Noah told that Abigail was not his person, Abigail was upset and went to the bathroom and cried. Noah himself also cried. He decided to leave BIP and Abigail did too after Noah left. The other people on the BIP show were so confused because they saw Noah and Abigail as a strong couple and were shocked when they decided to break up.

Now, based on social media and many articles, Noah and Abigail found their way back to each other again. The both of them said they love each other. It seems they worked it out and they are in a relationship. I looked at their Instagram accounts, the both of them publicly declared their love for each other. Here are short clips.

Seems that they broke up on National TV, but when the cameras are off and the show is done, these two found love together again. I also want to share one quick observation. When Abigail was on the Bachelor show with Matt James, there were conversations about Abigail’s deafness, how she identifies herself, and the possibility of having deaf babies. Those conversations were shown on screen, but with BIP there was no conversation between Abigail and Noah related with deafness or anything deaf related. Maybe Abigail did have a conversation with Noah but it was not on screen. I do not know, but I thought it was interesting to share that difference.

Well, this wraps everything up about Abigail’s journey on BIP. We wish Abigail the best of luck with her new chapter of love with Noah.
