Trump / Kamala debate recap

Last night, former President Donald Trump debated Vice President Kamala Harris in Philadelphia. It was the first time that they ever met each other.

Kamala attacked Trump by saying that when he lost the 2020 election, he was “fired by 81 million people.” She said world leaders have laughed at Donald Trump and that his rallies are boring.

Trump criticized Kamala by saying she failed to do her job as vice president to fix the border or create jobs over the past three and a half years. Trump claimed that in Springfield, Ohio, migrants are eating their neighbors’ pets. Kamala reacted by laughing with shock and said, “Talk about extreme.”

The city manager of Springfield, Ohio said there’s no evidence that this is happening. There was an incident of a woman that was arrested for eating a cat, but she was born in Ohio and 100% an American. There is also a big Haitian immigrant community in Springfield, Ohio. So this is clearly a mix of things that are lumped together to spread a negative light on Springfield and immigrants. There’s no truth behind it.

After the debate, Kamala challenged Trump to a second debate. It’s unknown if a second debate will happen. There will be a debate between the vice-president candidates Tim Walz and JD Vance on October 1.

Also after the debate, musician Taylor Swift announced she is endorsing Kamala. That’s a major endorsement and could be looked at as the equivalent of billionaire Elon Musk’s endorsement of Trump in July.

Trump, Kamala, other leaders mark 9/11 anniversary

Today Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump met again for the second time in 24 hours in New York City to mark the 23rd anniversary of 9/11. President Biden was also there. Kamala said “We will never forget” and Trump said “It was just a horrible day.” There were hundreds of FDNY and NYPD officers that honored those who died on that day. Many placed flowers and American flags on the reflection pools where the twin towers of the World Trade Center once stood before they were destroyed by two hijacked planes. Kamala/Biden and Trump also visited Shanksville, Pennsylvania where a hijacked plane crashed during a battle between passengers and terrorists. There is another memorial tonight at the Pentagon, which was also hit by a plane on 9/11.

Two Delta planes collide on tarmac

On Tuesday, two Delta planes collided with each other while they were moving around on the tarmac at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. One of the planes, a larger one, was ready to depart to Japan and its wingtip struck the tail of a smaller Endeavor Air plane, which is a subsidiary of Delta. The collision caused the smaller plane’s tail to snap and barely hang on the plane’s fuselage. Fortunately, there were no injuries. Delta said all the passengers on both flights were accommodated on new flights. The National Transportation Safety Board said it would investigate.
