It is Tuesday, November 30. Here are today’s top stories.

Today there was a shooting at a high school in Oxford Township, which is between Flint and Detroit, Michigan. Police said a 15-year-old sophomore shot and killed three students and injured six other people, including a teacher. The student was arrested and is now in police custody. Police said he fired 15 to 20 shots in about five minutes using a handgun. The name of the suspect or the victims have not been released. This is a breaking news story and I’ll provide more information tomorrow.

In northern England, there was a snowstorm that forced 61 people to stay inside of a pub called The Tan Hill Inn for three nights. The roads were covered by snow and a power line went out. The pub is in an isolated location and is the “highest pub” in the U.K. at 1.732 feet above sea level. The pub is able to operate off the grid and has guest rooms. The guests seemed to have a good time, because they had food and drink, was in the company of a band, and played table games and sang karaoke. There were many comments who said they would love to be stuck in a pub.

The snowstorm, named Storm Arwen, had a serious impact elsewhere in England. It brought wind speeds of over 90 mph and caused over 300,000 people to lose power. At least three people died from falling trees.

In northeastern Texas, a father who took his 11-year-old daughter hunting said he accidentally shot and killed her in their vehicle after they had just finished deer hunting. This happened on Saturday afternoon. The father called 911 and there was a request for an emergency airlift, but bad weather prevented that, and the girl was brought to a hospital with a police escort, but was pronounced dead. The girl’s name was Daisy Grace Lynn George and she was a sixth grader.

Law enforcement said they are investigating and that they believe it is a tragic accident. It is up to the local district attorney’s office to decide if the father should be charged.

The New York Times did a report on Monday that revealed details of how the CNN host Chris Cuomo used his media network to help his brother Andrew, the former governor of New York, to respond to accusations of sexual harassment that ultimately led to his resignation.

According to new documents from a state investigation, Chris used his media network to find out if there would be new reports of allegations of sexual misconduct. Chris also tried to get negative information about one of the female accusers.

A CNN spokesperson said CNN would review the new information.

Several news sites such as “The Atlantic” and “Slate” published opinion pieces that called on Chris to resign or be fired.

A federal court in Missouri blocked President Biden’s vaccine mandate for health care workers who work at sites that receive federal funding in 10 states. The deadline is January 4. The judge said Biden’s mandate exceeds his authority and that only Congress can provide authorization for the mandate. The 10 states are Missouri, Nebraska, Arkansas, Kansas, Iowa, Wyoming, Alaska, South Dakota, North Dakota, and New Hampshire.

Axios said there are four lawsuits that challenge Biden’s vaccine mandate on health care workers and that this is the first victory for those who oppose the rule.

On Monday night, the island nation of Barbados made a big change in its government when it officially cut its ties with the British monarchy and inaugurated its first-ever president, Sandra Mason. CNN explained that Barbados has a nearly-400-year old history with the British monarchy that has to do with the slave trade. Barbados declared independence from Britain 55 years ago, but Queen Elizabeth II was still recognized as the head of state, until yesterday. Prince Charles was in Barbados to take part in the historic new start. Here are some video clips.
