New polls say presidential race tied

New national polls on the presidential race showed that Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are at a tie with both getting 47%.

Harris has a lead in the important battleground state of Pennsylvania, where she is up 50% to Trump’s 46%.

The polls, conducted by the New York Times, the Philadelphia Inquirer, and Siena College, said Harris has a weakness in that “far more voters see her as too liberal than view Trump as too conservative.”

Trump’s weaknesses is getting the support of college-educated people who live in suburbs around Philadelphia — and probably in other suburbs nationwide.

The Times said this race “appears destined to become a battle of inches this fall…”

On Wednesday, a couple that are YouTube streamers, Fred and Sheila McCoy, was filming themselves searching for the body of a man suspected of shooting at vehicles on a highway in Kentucky on September 7, Joseph Couch. They filmed themselves walking through woods and explained that they were seeing vultures fly overhead and that there is a strong odor. The couple then gasped in shock when they found the body of a person and notified law enforcement.

Police in Kentucky said they believe the body is Couch. Police said the McCoys will receive a $25,000 reward.

The shooting on September 7 injured five people on the highway. There was an intense manhunt for the suspect that lasted almost two weeks. It was difficult for law enforcement to find the suspect because of the rough terrain and thick brush. Police said now with the body found, they hope there can be closure.

Justice Dept. wants $100M from ship that wrecked Baltimore bridge

CNN reported that the Justice Department filed a lawsuit seeking more than $100 million from the two companies that owned and operated the container ship that destroyed Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge in March. The lawsuit accused the two companies of cutting costs and being irresponsible in maintaining the ship, which is named Dali. The lawsuit said the Dali’s crew was not prepared and the ship was unseaworthy. The ship lost power before it collided with one of the bridge’s support columns. The bridge collapse killed six overnight immigrant laborers and caused almost 50,000 tons of steel, concrete, and asphalt to fall into the Patapsco River. The two companies are Grace Ocean Private Limited and Synergy Marine Private Limited. There could be criminal charges in the future in addition to mounting legal actions from the city of Baltimore and the families of the victims.

She said she was getting water when she was bit and wrapped up. She grabbed the snake’s head but the animal wouldn’t release her and tightened. Arom was stuck on the kitchen floor and tried crying out for help, but nobody heard her until about an hour and a half later. A police officer who responded said he saw Arom looking exhausted and pale with the snake around her body. Earth will have an mini-moon

Earth will have a “mini-moon” — which is an asteroid -- that will orbit around our planet between September 29 to November 25. The asteroid’s name is 2024 PT5. USAToday explained that PT5 will be captured in Earth’s gravitational pull and then escape Earth’s orbit and be pulled toward the sun before continuing its travels around our solar system. Unfortunately, we may not be able to see it because it is not going to be bright enough, even for those with backyard telescopes or binoculars. PT5 is only 33 feet wide. It will come back to Earth in 2055.
