President Donald Trump said he would not participate in next week’s second presidential debate because it was to be done remotely due to health and safety concerns. Trump is recovering from a coronavirus infection. Trump said it is ridiculous to have a virtual debate.
Joe Biden’s campaign said because of this, they will find a place to take questions from voters on October 15th.
NBC News reported that the head of the White House security office tested positive for the coronavirus.
Vermont will become the 11th state to legalize recreational marijuana. This was done via the legislative process rather than on the ballot. Recreational sales are set to begin on October 2022.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that when there is a Covid-19 vaccine approved by Canadian officials, it would be provided free for all Canadians. Canada has 173,000 confirmed cases and 9,500 deaths.
The FBI has charged six men with plotting to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) and overthrow the state government. The FBI said the suspects wanted to put her on trial for treason prior to the election. The FBI paid a confidential source to record meetings between the suspects and said they reached out to a Michigan-based militia during the course of their plans.
