Human remains likely recovered from submersible wreckage

The U.S. Coast Guard announced yesterday that they recovered what may be human remains from the implosion of the submersible that was visiting the Titanic shipwreck last week. Five people died in the implosion.

News images showed crews working to move debris that they recovered from the bottom of the ocean floor.

The Coast Guard said they carefully recovered the human remains and that now medical professionals will conduct a formal analysis.

An investigator said there is still a lot of work to be done to understand what caused the submersible to implode and make sure that this doesn’t happen again in the future.

Air Quality worsens for U.S. because of the Canadian wildfire

Smokes from the Canadian wildfire continue to make the air quality unhealthy in the Midwest and East Coast regions. People are bracing for another wave of haze.

Yesterday, the Environmental Protection Agency said about 102 million people live in areas that were expected to reach at least the orange level of air quality. People who live in Chicago have a cloudy, gray sky, limited visibility, irritating lungs, and a thick burning smell filling their noses.

The sky was very smoky, too in Milwaukee, Indianapolis, and other large city areas. This is the same for people on the East Coast with air quality warnings.

Based on several articles, they say that according to IQ Air, right now, three U.S. cities are ranked among the top five major cities in the world with the worst air quality: Detroit, Chicago, and Minneapolis.

Delta lands without front landing gear

A Delta plane landed at Charlotte Douglas International Airport without its landing gear. There were 96 customers, three flight attendants, and two pilots. No one was hurt. Delta said the pilot got a warning light saying “nose gear unsafe” while approaching the Charlotte airport.

So, the pilots called the air traffic control center to inspect the plane. The results showed that the nose landing gear doors were open, but the nose gear itself remained inside.

Pilots had to make an emergency announcement on board. The flight attendants helped brief the information to everyone and the passengers were prepared for the landing.

They said it was a smooth ride even if they knew they had to brace for a rough landing. The plane landed with the nose down, using the bottom of the nose to halt to a stop.

Passengers clapped and cheered for the successful landing. Delta apologized for what happened, said this rarely happens and they were happy that passengers were safe.

The Federal Aviation Administration said they will investigate more on this.
