President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill visited the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his wife Carrie Johnson today in Cornwall, Britain. It is President Biden’s first time meeting a foreign leader.
The two are expected to discuss Covid-19, climate change, terrorism, Afghanistan troop withdraw, cyber challenges, and other issues.

The Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital suspended 178 employees who refused to take a Covid-19 vaccination. The hospital mandated all employees to be fully vaccinated by Monday.
The hospital president said almost 25,000 employees have been fully inoculated, but 178 people who “did not get religious or medical exemptions were suspended without pay, including 27 who are only partly vaccinated.”
There were protests outside of the hospital on Monday. A news image shows people with signs saying, “No Forced Vaccine” and “Stop Medical Tyranny.”
NBC News explained that 117 employees sued the hospital at the end of May, arguing that the vaccines were “experimental” and did not have final approval from the FDA.
The hospital president said the science proves that the vaccines are safe and effective in protecting patients, staff, and the community from Covid-19.
NBC News said the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said two weeks ago that federal employment laws do not prevent an employer from requiring all employees physically entering the workplace to be vaccinated for COVID-19,” as long as the employers comply with the ADA.
AP News said Emma Coronel Aispuro, who is the wife of Mexican drug lord Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman, appeared in federal court today to plead guilty to drug-related charges and admitted that she helped her husband run his “multibillion-dollar criminal empire.”
Aispuro, who is 31, was arrested in February at Dulles International Airport and has been behind bars all this time.
Federal prosecutors said she helped El Chapo to import about 50 tons of cocaine and a multitude of other drugs in the U.S. She was accused of helping her husband to deliver messages after his arrest.
The guilty plea means she will receive less time when she is sentenced. El Chapo is serving a life sentence in Colorado’s Supermax prison.

The Biden administration announced it would ship 500 million doses of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine to 92 countries around the world and to the African Union beginning this August and into 2022. The U.S. is buying the doses at a not-for-profit price and will work with an international program called COVAX to make sure low and lower-middle income nations get doses.
However, an official with the Doctors Without Borders organization said to really make an impact, people need to get vaccines now, not at the end of 2021, not in 2022.
Biden is expected to talk more about the vaccine plan during his speech tonight in Britain.
A viral video shows an Arkansas state trooper performing a PIT maneuver on a pregnant woman’s SUV, causing it to lurch across a highway, crash into the inside wall, and flip over.
The officer, Rodney Dunn, said the driver was speeding and didn’t pull over for two minutes after he turned on his overhead lights.
The video shows that the pregnant woman, Janice Harper, had hazard lights on and appeared to be looking for a safe place to pull over before it was PIT’ed.
CBS News said audio shows that after the crash, Harper told Dunn that she is pregnant and that her flashers were on and she wanted to wait for an exit. Dunn said “it doesn’t matter” and that she should pull over when law enforcement stops her.
This happened last July. Harper’s unborn baby was not harmed and is now four months old. Her lawsuit accuses Dunn of putting her and her unborn child’s lives at risk by committing a negligently performed PIT maneuver.
The man who slapped French President Macron in the face on Tuesday was sentenced to four months in prison. His name is Damien Tarel and he is 28 years old. He is also banned from ever holding public office in France and from owning weapons for five years.
AP News said authorities in the country used a special emergency procedure to hold a trial immediately instead of the usual months or years-long wait for a date.
AP News said Tarel showed no remorse and testified that the slap was an impulse based on looking at Macron’s “friendly, lying look.” He said he is a right-wing activist and that Macron is causing France to decline.
AP News said Tarel’s girlfriend broke down in tears when his four-month sentence was announced.
