Body of woman found next to 13-foot alligator in Florida

In Largo, Florida on Friday afternoon, a body of a 41-year-old woman was spotted next to an alligator that was over 13 feet long. Police and wildlife officials responded to the scene and shot and killed the alligator before recovering the woman's remains.

A man said he was on his way to a job interview when he saw that the alligator had a body in its mouth, so he started recording and went to the fire department and reported it to them.

A news video showed law enforcement officers and vehicles surrounding a large alligator that is deceased near a lake.

On Saturday, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office identified the woman as Sabrina Peckham. Her daughter posted on Facebook that she was "houseless" and lived in a nearby wooded area. She believes that Sabrina was attacked at nighttime as she walked in the area.

A resident in the area told local news that they knew there were a lot of alligators, but that they have never seen one as big as the one in the incident.

Biden suffers from low approval ratings

Polls from The Washington Post-ABC News and NBC News shows that 56% of respondents do not approve of the job that President Biden is doing.

They said the major reasons for their disapproval is rising prices for food and gas. Others feel that the U.S. is doing too much in its support of Ukraine.

The polls showed that it seems like we’ll have another round of Biden vs Trump for the 2024 election. One poll had both candidates tied, while another had Trump leading Biden.

Missing toddler found safe sleeping with dogs

Last week in Faithorn, Michigan, a 2-year-old girl who went missing after walking barefoot over three miles away from her home in a wooded area at night time was found safe about four hours later with her two family dogs.

A searcher using an ATV said they saw the girl, Thea, sleeping on the ground with her head on the top of an English Springer dog. The other dog, a Rottweiler, was barking.

The mother, Brooke Chase, said when her daughter came back home on the ATV, she was giggling and said, "Hi, Mommy."

The second news is that she attended the Kansas City Chiefs’ home game yesterday at the invitation of the Chiefs’ star tight end Travis Kelce. The Chiefs won the game and Kelce and Swift were seen leaving the stadium together.

NASA brings asteroid sample to Earth

NASA said it has successfully brought a sample it took from an asteroid in 2020 back to Earth on Sunday. The sample was taken from the asteroid Bennu, which makes a close approach to Earth every six years.

NASA scientists will now study the sample to learn more about our solar system and its origins.

In separate but related news, the asteroid Bennu is considered a risk to Earth because of its close approaches and there is a very small chance that it could be on course for a collision with Earth in the year 2182.
