Robin Horwitz, co-founder of Convo, passes away

Robin Horwitz, who was one of the four co-founders of Convo in 2009 and became the company’s first CEO, passed away on Saturday, May 20 after a battle with cancer.

Convo posted on its Facebook page that “Robin’s entrepreneurial spirit, dedication and vision were instrumental in shaping the foundation of our company” and that they would “always remember Robin as an inspiring leader, a true advocate for Deaf people everywhere, and a dear friend to many of us at Convo.”

The United States Deaf Cycling Association (USDCA) posted a tribute to Robin, saying they are saddened to hear about his passing. The USDCA said Robin was “an avid cyclist, particularly on the track, Robin was always behind the scenes supporting USDCA… Robin left a lasting impact on both the hearing and Deaf cycling communities.”

Robin attended the Rochester School for the Deaf. Robin had a passion for market trading and was also a powerlifter. Robin was recently a managing partner of an interpreting agency called Interpreter-now. There were many messages of grief and tributes by those who knew him on social media. Robin leaves behind a wife and a child.
