Biden tells Democrats to stop asking him to drop out
Today, President Biden wrote a letter to Democrats in Congress to tell them to stop talking about the possibility of him dropping out of the presidential race due to his age and concerns about his abilities. He said he is committed to staying in the race to defeat Donald Trump.
Biden’s weak performance during his first debate against Donald Trump a little over a week ago prompted some to call him to drop out.
Biden said that he’s seen people expressing concerns for over a week in the news and that it’s time for it to end. Biden said he became the Democratic nominee through the primary process and he believes he is the best candidate.

France elections; Ukraine hospital bombed
Here are two international news briefs.
In France, voters gave a left-wing alliance, the New Popular Front, and its allies, the most seats (power) in the French parliament. A far-right party, National Rally, was thought to have a good chance to win the most seats, but they didn’t. Many thought France would start to lean far right, but that’s not happening for now.
The second news: Russia launched over 40 missiles across Ukraine, killing at least 36 people. A children’s hospital in Kyiv was damaged with a doctor killed and seven children injured. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy said the world must work together to end Russia’s strikes.
