On Friday during New Year’s Eve, Betty White, a beloved actress and comedian, passed away at the age of 99. She was only three weeks away from her 100th birthday.
Betty’s breakout acting role was in “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” in the 1970’s. She was also one of “The Golden Girls” and in 2010 hosted an episode of Saturday Night Live. She won several Emmy awards and was widely recognized. Many have posted tributes in honor of her.
One of my favorite memories of Betty was when she played in an outdoors tackle football game for a Snickers commercial during Super Bowl 2010. She really looked like she could have played physical football even though she was in her late 80’s. She was an unique actor and she’s now departed.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga) was permanently suspended from Twitter for what the company said was multiple violations of its policy on spreading Covid-19 misinformation. What did she tweet? A day before her suspension on Sunday, she tweeted that the vaccines were causing an extremely high amount of Covid-19 deaths. That was the tweet before the ban. Greene was already under a warning for tweeting in the past that the vaccines were “failing” and for another tweet in which she said the coronavirus was only a danger to those who are obese or over 65. So the repeated instances of violations led to her permanent ban from Twitter. She still has her official Congressional account, but her personal account was removed. One of the accounts is gone. MTG the Congresswoman, after she was banned, posted on another app, Telegram, that “Twitter is an enemy to America and can’t handle the truth.”

An article in Axios said a medical official working at the Capitol urged congressional offices and staff to shift towards remote work due to a skyrocketing coronavirus positivity rate among the Capitol community. There are hundreds of individuals infected – with the blame placed on the Omicron and Delta variants and their contagious nature. So the Capitol is now encouraging its staff to work remotely.
