Carroll allowed to amend lawsuit against Trump

On Tuesday, a federal judge in New York said E. Jean Carroll, who won a $5 million sexual abuse and defamation lawsuit against Donald Trump in May, can now amend her case by pursuing $10 million after Trump continued to make statements that Carroll was lying.

In 2019, Carroll accused Trump of raping her in the mid-1990s. Trump said she was a liar. Carroll then sued him in a federal civil court. A jury found that Trump sexually assaulted her but not that he raped her, and that he defamed her. The award was $5 million.

Now this case is escalating because Trump is continuing to make remarks that Carroll is lying.
