Hunter Biden found guilty on all charges in felony gun trial

Hunter Biden, 54, was found guilty on all charges Tuesday in his federal gun trial related to making a false statement in his purchase of a handgun while being an active user of illegal drugs, making him the first child of a sitting president to be convicted of a crime.

Hunter now faces sentencing and possibly up to 25 years in prison as his father seeks re-election. Although as a first-time offender, it is unlikely he will receive the maximum sentence.

His sentencing date is to be determined.

The federal gun trial is one of two that Hunter Biden is set to face before the November election. He is separately charged in Los Angeles federal court with failing to pay taxes on more than $1.4 million in income over several years. He is due to stand trial in that case in September.

Rodeo bull hops fence at Oregon rodeo, injuring three spectators

Officials said a rodeo bull hopped a fence surrounding an Oregon arena and ran through a concession area into a parking lot, injuring at least three people before wranglers caught up with it.

According to a video shot by a fan, the crowd at the 84th Sisters Rodeo in the city of Sisters was singing on Saturday night, most with their cell phone flashlights on, as the bull ran around the arena before what was to be the final bull ride of the night when the bull hopped the fence.

Other videos posted online showed the bull running through a concession area, knocking over a garbage can and sending people scrambling. The bull lifted one person wearing a red top off the ground, spun them end over end and bounced them off its horns before the person hit the ground.

Woman swallowed by quicksand while enjoying walk on the beach with husband

Jamie Acord said she was walking along Popham Beach in Phippsburg, Maine, with her husband when she suddenly found herself waist-deep in sand.

Acord said that the incident happened to her on Saturday, June 1, while she and her husband were walking along the beach, just talking and all of a sudden she went into the sand. She started sinking into the ground in a matter of seconds. When she was waist-deep in sand, she said she could not feel the ground with her feet and could not push herself out. She added that she just dropped like a rock.

Her husband was able to pull her out. Besides a few scratches, she is OK.

The Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry said Acord had stepped on a pocket of supersaturated sand caused by the changing direction of the nearby Morse River. Instead of flowing out to sea, the river is directed along the beach because of erosion caused by impactful winter storms.

They said the sand is saturated with water causing it to be even more unstable and very easy to find yourself sinking into it. They added what occurred is a 100-percent survivable scenario.
