Pelosi: House to transmit articles of impeachment to Senate next week
House Speaker Pelosi told the House that they should be prepared to send articles of impeachment against President Trump to the Senate next week. She also said the House should be ready to name impeachment managers.
What are impeachment managers? They will have the role of prosecutors during the trial in the Senate.
How many managers will there be? CNN explained that there are “no restrictions” on the number of managers.
During Bill Clinton’s impeachment trial, there were 13 House Republicans that were impeachment managers. One of them was then- South Carolina Representative Lindsey Graham, who is now a senator.
So, we see that the trial could start very soon. The Senate will act as jurors.
Fox News explained that the impeachment trial could have started a while back ago, but it was delayed because Pelosi didn’t transmit the articles of impeachment to the Senate in an attempt to force them to agree to call certain witnesses.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky) did not bend, as he had all the power with a Republican majority to set the rules for the trial. He wants the issue of witnesses to be discussed after the start of the trial, which means Democrats has no guarantee they will be able to call witnesses, and that’s what will happen.
When will the trial start? McConnell said when he receives the articles, he will bring forth a Senate resolution and begin the trial.
The articles against Trump are abuse of power and obstruction of justice.

145k jobs gained in December; Dow hits record 29,000 points
Axios reported that the U.S. economy added 145,000 jobs in December, which is below expectations, but still a gain. The unemployment rate is still at 3.5%. It is the lowest it’s been in 50 years. Wages are up 2.9% from last year, which is considered a small gain.
The Dow Jones hit a new record today by reaching 29,000 points. It’s below that at the time of signing, but the 29,000 mark is a new record. President Trump took credit for the success on Twitter this morning, saying 11,000 points were gained in the three years since his election.

Boeing 737 Max: supplier cuts 2,800 jobs; shocking internal messages
Here are two news related to the Boeing 737 Max aircraft that is grounded worldwide after two crashes in 2018 and 2019 killed 346 people.
The first -- a company that makes fuselages and other parts for the planes, Spirit Aerosystems — based in Wichita, Kansas — announced they will cut about 2,800 jobs because the planes are still grounded and they don’t know when the planes will be back to service.
The second news — Boeing released internal documents to the FAA and to Congressional investigators and some of them showed employees criticizing the 737 Max and the FAA.
One employee said in 2017 that “this airplane is designed by clowns who in turn are supervised by monkeys.” Another employee said they could pressure the FAA to do what they wanted.
Boeing said the messages were completely unacceptable.

NFL Playoffs: Divisional Round
This weekend is the second round of the NFL playoffs — the “Divisional Round.” There will be four games.
On Saturday, the Minnesota Vikings play against the San Francisco 49ers and the Tennessee Titans play against the Baltimore Ravens.
On Sunday, the Houston Texans play against the Kansas City Chiefs and the Seattle Seahawks play against the Green Bay Packers.
All four of the games will be in outdoor stadiums and weather may be a factor in Sunday's games.
USA Today reported that the Green Bay Packers announced they need 700 people to help with shoveling snow from the seats at Lambeau Field at 6 a.m. on Sunday. The area is expecting 8 to 10 inches. The shovelers will be paid $12 an hour. Gametime temperatures are expected to be 24 degrees F.
The game in Kansas City will also be cold at 36 degrees F.
The weather for Saturday’s games will be mild with temperatures in the mid 50’s for both San Francisco and Baltimore.
There will be another round of playoffs next weekend, the NFC and AFC Championship matches.
Who do I think will win? I pick the 49ers, Ravens, Chiefs, and Seahawks. Who do you think will win?
Next week is the AFC and NFC championship matches.
