Mar-a-lago search inventory released by judge

A federal judge made public an inventory of things that the FBI seized from Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.

The inventory showed that there were top secret records in an office and storage room and 48 empty folders with labels that said, “classified.” It is not known why the folders were empty.

The FBI said they took 33 boxes and containers and that some top-secret materials were in places where there were other normal, everyday items such as newspapers, magazines, or clothes.

The Department of Justice is conducting a criminal investigation on the potential mishandling of classified information and obstruction. Trump has maintained that he declassified all the records and that the investigation is politically motivated.

Ex-NYPD officer sentenced 10 years for Capitol riot

Thomas Webster, who is a retired New York Police Department officer, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for assaulting one of the police officers who was trying to defend the U.S. Capitol from a mob on January 6. He was accused of using a metal flagpole to assault an officer and tackling an officer and grabbing his gas mask.

It is the longest sentence given out so far for people convicted of crimes related to the Capitol attack.

Webster claimed he was acting in self-defense because he was punched in the face by a bad cop. Prosecutors said

A jury found him guilty in May and he was sentenced on Thursday. The judge said he didn’t think Webster was a bad person and got caught up in the moment, but that there must be consequences.

Biden slams Trump and “MAGA forces” in speech

President Biden gave a speech in Philadelphia on Thursday night to issue a strong criticism of former president Trump and “MAGA forces.” He tried to separate the Republican Party by labeling one group “Republicans” and the other “MAGA Republicans.”

He said “the Republican Party today is dominated, driven and intimated by Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans. And that is a threat to this country.”

Biden said, “MAGA forces are determined to take this country backwards” by trying to take away abortion rights, contraception (BC) rights, or LGBTQ marriage rights.

Biden said MAGA Republicans do not respect the Constitution and refuse to accept the results of a free election.

Last week in another speech Biden called Trump’s philosophy “semi-fascism,” which is similar to Nazism.

The Republican National Committee’s spokeswoman said Biden is causing division, causing Americans to go up against each other. House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy said Biden slandered tens of millions of Americans by calling them fascists.

Today Biden said he wasn’t trying to say that “any Trump supporter (is) a threat to the country” but was trying to emphasize that those who voted for Trump didn’t want an insurrection.
