94-year-old among KSD class of 2023

The second is a report from a local news outlet in Kentucky, WSAZ, that a 94-year-old woman is among the 2023 graduating class at the Kentucky School for the Deaf. Her name is Beulah Hester.

The article explained that Hester went to KSD from 1937 to 1948 but left before her senior year to start a family. She later worked at the school as a dorm houseparent for 30 years until her retirement in 1990. She was awarded an honorary diploma during the graduation ceremony on Friday. Hester told WSAZ that she is very surprised, that getting the diploma is so important to her, and that she’s enjoyed the experience so much.

Congratulations to Beulah Hester!
