Deaf man charged with murdering estranged 3-year-old daughter
In Winnipeg, Canada, there is horrific news of a three-year-old Coda girl who, according to police, was brutally killed by her estranged father, a 28-year-old deaf man. This happened last Wednesday, July 7.

The suspect’s name is Frank Nausigimana. He is charged with first-degree murder and faces a life sentence without a chance of parole for 25 years.
The girl’s name was Jemimah. There is a GoFundMe set up by the aunt, Karla. The GoFundMe said the “untimely passing will leave an immeasurable void in our hearts…”
Frank was a student at the Manitoba School for the Deaf after moving to Canada in 2009 from Burundi. The mother came to Canada from the Philippines.
“The Daily Moth” did an interview with a person who is close to the mother to get more details about what happened.
The person said the mother and Frank had a relationship that lasted for several years that ended when the mother became pregnant. Frank wanted the mother to get an abortion, but she refused. Then it became violent when he tried to force the mother to drink a poison.
According to CBC News, the mother of the girl testified in court that Frank tried to force her to abort their then-unborn child by making her ingest some kind of liquid in an incident in 2017. Frank pleaded guilty to assault and was sentenced to a year of supervised probation. There was a protection order that lasted only a few months in 2017 when the mother said she forgave him and wanted to move on. Both attended the same deaf church.

The person I interviewed said Frank became increasingly angry in recent months because the mother became engaged to another man. A few months ago Frank tried to get a court to grant him 50/50 custody of the girl. News reports say the mother was opposed to it.
Here is what happened on Wednesday morning according to the person I interviewed. I have to warn you that this story is graphic.
On Wednesday morning, the mother was parked on a residential street. The girl was in the rear seat. When the mother got out of the car and walked around, Frank unexpectedly pulled up behind her in another car, spooking her. Frank made some kind of threat and ordered her to get back in the car. They drove for a while and then switched seats with the mother sitting on the passenger seat. When they came to a stop, the mother jumped out of the car and tried to scream for help. Two cars passed by with no help. Frank then drove off with the girl still inside.
The mother called her family, who called 911. The mother’s brother picked her up and after waiting for a while, got distressing news from the police that the little girl was hospitalized with serious wounds.
Police said it was only a few minutes between the 911 call and them locating the car at an intersection of King Edward Street and Jefferson Avenue. Frank was arrested on the spot as the girl received immediate medical care for stab wounds and was taken to the hospital.
The mother and her family rushed to the hospital, and there they were told that Jemimah passed away.
The person I interviewed asked for respect for the privacy of the mother and her family as they go through their grieving process. They said Frank will appear in court on July 16.
The link to the GoFundMe to support the family is in the transcript. Our hearts go out to the mother and the family of Jemimah.
