Deaf Boxer Julian Smith to fight this Saturday

Deaf boxer Julian “Quiet Storm” Smith will be competing this Saturday, July 27 at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. Julian, who has a 8-2 record, will be fighting an opponent named Shohjahon Ergashev, a boxer from Uzbekistan with a 24-1 record. The fight will be available to watch on the DAZN streaming service.

Julian is coming off a win via knockout on February 2 in which he won the World Boxing Association (WBA) super lightweight international belt.

Julian’s fight is the third fight on the Claressa Shields vs Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse card. You can see the image of the fight card. That’s the main fight and Julian is third on the card. The fights usually happen in reverse order or backwards. The “least important” fights are at the bottom with the main fight at the top. So Julian is close to the top of the card.

I will watch the fight and provide an update on Sunday. Good luck to Julian “Quiet Storm!”

If you want to know a bit more about who Julian is, “Daily Moth” reporter Renca Dunn did an interview with him in February.
