Biden-Harris Inauguration Day
This is a recap of the Biden-Harris inauguration day. I will show you video clips throughout.
The day started with President Trump leaving the White House for the last time.

Trump took a helicopter to Joint Base Andrews and gave a speech in which he said he would be back.

That’s how it ends with the 45th president, as the wheels of American democracy turn.
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris walked up the U.S. Capitol steps with their spouses about 10:30 a.m.

The Capitol had an eerie feel to it, because it was a completely different scene two weeks ago. There were video shots of Capitol Police officers and U.S. Marines standing guard at various posts in and around the Capitol.

Former presidents and Supreme Court justices walked through the Capitol.

The outgoing Vice President Mike Pence and his wife Karen went to the Capitol.

We remember that two weeks ago Pence had to evacuate from the building. You can see that there was applause from the audience, because they recognized the significant symbolism of Pence being there.

Next was a historical moment, when Vice President-elect Kamala Harris emerged into the inauguration audience platform as the first female, Black, and South Asian Vice President.

The President-elect Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, went into the platform, which began the inauguration ceremony. I will show you several video clips.

Andrea M. Hall, a Black female fire captain came to recite the pledge of allegiance. She surprised many of us when she used ASL signs.

She is the first Black female fire chief of South Fulton County Fire Rescue in Georgia. Her union was the first to endorse the Biden campaign. She brought ASL to the inauguration stage. I hope to find out what her connection is with the ASL community.
Now, back to the inauguration. The most important moment — it was time for Kamala Harris and Joe Biden to take the oath of office.

Biden then gave his first speech as the 46th president. Here are some clips.

At the time I’m signing this news, President Biden entered the White House for the first time as president with First Lady Dr. Jill Biden as a marching band from Howard University, where Harris graduated from, performed on a street.
It’s the start of a new four-year journey for America.
