Nancy Hooper: My house was destroyed. Badly destroyed.

Nancy: My son, Dennis (this is his sign name) got a text from the sheriff that was an alert. It was a warning. It said to please leave right now. Right now. My son was in a panic. I told him I needed to pick up several things and pack them. My son said no, that we had to leave right now. I didn’t have a choice and left with my son in a car. When I left, I saw the fire on the mountain.
Alex: Nancy said she lived in that house for 57 years.
Nancy: 57 years. Yes. I’m 91 years old.
Alex: Nancy said her son talked with the house insurer and they provided them with hotel accommodations until the end of January. They are still trying to figure out where to stay after. Nancy said they’re talking with FEMA. She is not sure of what will happen in the future.
Nancy’s husband passed away two years ago and it was just her and her son who lived in the house.
Nancy’s granddaughter set up a GoFundMe and the link is in the transcript.
Our hearts go out to Nancy and her family during this time.
Nancy: I love you. ILY. Bye.
